Members of the Downtown Shenandoah Board of Directors along with community members and business leaders were present at the June 1 ribbon cutting celebrating the new ownership of Shenandoah Pharmacy. Owners Pinky and Kanul Patel expressed their gratitude to the community for being kind and welcoming them to the Shenandoah community and look forward to providing the area with much needed services.

The Patels are the perfect example of the American entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout the years they have grown their family business to include seven convenient store locations throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. In addition to Shenandoah they own stores in Bangor, Hamburg, Marietta, Ringtown, Scranton, and Stroudsburg.

The Patels care and are committed to helping improve the Shenandoah area. They both agree the future is bright if the community joins together. "We all need to do our part in making Shenandoah a better and safe place to raise our families," Pinky said. A joint effort from everyone will make a big difference in making our town better," she added.

The ribbon cutting was attended by representatives from the Schuylkill County Commissioners office, Senator Argall's office, Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, and Shenandoah Chamber of Commerce.
