Karen Kenderdine was recently presented Central Penn Business Journal's Women of Influence Circle of Excellence Award. This award is presented to outstanding women who are extremely accomplished and exemplify hard work, passion and commitment to their career and community. Karen is Mid Penn Bank's Senior Vice President & Manager of Relationship Services. She is also the President and Treasurer of Downtown Shenandoah, Inc.

Karen's colleague Jim Bohorad stated in the Central Penn Business Journal article announcing the award that, Karen's relationships with clients goes above and beyond... In my experience no one provides better service to her clients or cares more about her clients than Karen. He continued to say that she is deeply dedicated and loyal to all her clients and co workers.

"We are thrilled that the spotlight is shining on Karen with this honor," said Susan Williams of DSI. "She is a true champion for our community and shows it by taking action to make positive things happen. DSI is grateful she devotes so much of her time and talent to our organization. Williams explained that Karen is a major driving force behind The Center for Education, Business & Arts (CEBA) which Karen mentions in the article. "I truly want to see my community thrive and do my best to aid in that process," she said. "Community growth and revitalization are extremely important to me."

Karen's commitment and passion to strengthening the entire Schuylkill County is clear through her involvement with DSI and other local nonprofit organizations. She actively serves on the Penn State Schuylkill Advisory Board, Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation, Schuylkill Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance, Schuylkill United Way, Avenues, and the NEPA Manufacturers and Employers Association.
