Karen Kenderdine and Mary Luscavage Featured on The Schuylkill Report
Shares the Past, Present, and Future of CEBA

DSI board executives, Karen Kenderdine, president and treasurer, and Mary Luscavage, acting executive director and secretary, recently joined Sam Lesante and Jerry Enders on a September episode of The Schuylkill Report. The focus of the conversation was The Center For Education, Business & Arts (CEBA) and covered the past, present, and future of the project. Sam and Jerry both expressed how impressed they are with all the great things going on in Shenandoah and asked Kaen to share the CEBA story.

Karen explained that this 10-year project started as market price housing, but with the help of The Pennsylvania Downtown Center (PDC) and multiple focus groups, interviews, and meetings, it changed directions to an innovation center that would spur economic growth in the region."If you can help your people to be all they can be, then the community will revitalize with their efforts. Our mission is to provide all the tools and the access that people will need to lift them up to whatever dream they have," she said.

Karen explained that CEBA is coming to completion thanks to the incredible team at Wagman Construction, and the building should be completely done by December. “We hope to have a grand opening in January," she added.

Mary Luscavage continued the conversation and said that she was born and raised in Shenandoah and is extremely happy CEBA is in her town "CEBA is my dream," she said. She stressed that this project is for everybody, not just those who live in Shenandoah, and everyone should join DSI to celebrate at the grand opening next year.
