CEBA Connects is a speaker series that launched in 2021 and hosted by Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. (DSI). A combination of live virtual and in-person presentations are led by community members representing a variety of businesses, organizations, and industries. These generous professionals share their time and talent to help their friends and colleagues learn new tips and ideas to strengthen their skills.

The informative presentation will include ways for you to be an active participant in your healthcare and understand your personal path to wellness. We will explore ways you can be empowered to make an impact on your personal modifiable risk factors. We will focus on nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress.

Before the presentation think about what wellness looks like to you. What would it feel like to feel well,  when was the last time you felt well? We'll have a conversation and a Q&A session so you can start your 2022 on a healthy path!

Nicole Morris FNP-BC, MSN is a family nurse practitioner at The Primary Health Network Schuylkill Community Health Center in Minersville, PA. She cares for patients of all ages, from newborn to geriatric, and treats a multitude of illnesses, as well as maintains a healthy lifestyle.

DSI invites you to Paper Quilling with Marky.  Artist Marky Barto will instruct students on how to create a Paper Quilled Valentine's Day ornament. This is a great introduction class to quilling that includes all the materials so your artwork will be ready to display or to give to a loved one.

Marky Barto is a professional artist based in Shenandoah, PA. Being born and having lived and studied in Europe, she was fortunate to get in touch with classical arts, which inspired her style of painting and drawing. Treat yourself this Valentine’s Day by focusing on your health and well-being.
Want to focus on your self-care, but not sure what to do or how to get started? Mandy will explain the importance of self-care on your body, mind, and wallet.  She will share easy tips to help you get started with doable self-care routines. She’ll also provide ways to winterize your self-care routine.

Mandy is the Executive Director of Schuylkill County VISION and brings her previous experience as a Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist to this presentation to discuss no-or low-cost healthy habit ideas to incorporate into your work day.

The Center for Education, Business & Arts, a DSI initiative, is slated to open in late 2024. This community hub and innovation center will include a commercial kitchen, Penn State classroom, coworking spaces, and an event center. It will be located on Main Street, Shenandoah, PA, and assist people from all walks of life to learn new skills, find resources for entrepreneurship, create new jobs, and collaborate with like-minded professionals.
